Today Milford-based Potterhill Homes broke ground on its latest development Northwind, in Cincinnati’s Northside Community. Funded by the City of Cincinnati and developed by Northpoint Land Group, Northwind will feature 25 single-family homes from its neo-traditional and traditional lines.
As of today, 28 percent of the 25 lots have been pre-sold, which Potterhill Homes President Carolyn Rolfes says indicates the desire for more affordable single-family and environmentally friendly homes in Cincinnati’s city center.
“Northside shares our values,” said Carolyn Rolfes, President of Potterhill Homes. “We believe that revitalizing our urban core with high-quality housing is essential for our city’s long term progress, and current sales show that people agree with us.”
Northwind will be located within the City of Cincinnati which qualifies each home for a 10-year tax abatement. Buyers also can choose to have their home LEED certified for a 15-year tax abatement.
Today’s groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Mayor Mark Mallory, City Manager Milton Dahoney, Michael Cervey, Head of the Department of Community Development and members of City Council.
All Potterhill Homes come standard with 9’ ceilings, rounded drywall corners, arched openings, 36” kitchen cabinets and unique architecture. Homes also are 50 percent more efficient on heating and cooling than other builders’ homes, which will save homebuyers thousands of dollars over the life of their home. Additional options include Geothermal heating and cooling, and ENERGYSTAR® appliances. Homes at Northwind will be priced starting in the $140s, and Potterhill Homes is currently taking reservations for the lot draw, which will be held in late January.
Northwind is located off of Kirby Avenue, between Robley and Martha, just a few short blocks from the Central Business District of Northside. For more information about Northwind, visit www.PotterhillHomes.com or call (513) 248-4428.
