The share of single family building permits issued to the top 5 builders in the 7 county Greater Cincinnati/No. Kentucky region has declined since NPG DataQuest began tracking permits in January of 2009. 49% of the permits issued in the first 5 months of 2012 were issued to the top 5 builders in the market.  This is down 6% from the same period in 2009.  The top 10 builders were issued 63% of the single family permits in the first 5 months of 2012; down 2% from the same period in 2009.  Market Share for the top 5 and top 10 builders peaked in 2010 during the first time homebuyer tax credit program.
